PLAN C Agency collaborated with Island Def Jam Records to help promote renown Jpop singer Utada Hikaru latest single.   PCA helped promote a meet and greet  in Los Angeles at the Sephora in the Los Angeles Hollywood & Highlands Complex.  She was there to not only connect with her fans but promote her 2nd full English album.

For a hour and a half, Utada graciously met with fans, whom came in droves of hundreds and thousands.  Unfortunately, she was on a tight schedule and wasn’t able to meet with everyone.  Many were disappointed and one faithful fan even started crying because of the missed opportunity to meet his favorite singer.  Luckily, the staff working there saw how heart broken he was and gave him an autograph picture and a gift package that not everyone was able to get.

Utada, who attended Columbia University in 2000 and is fluent in English, has the star power, talent, and charm to go far in the United States.  PLAN C Agency wishes Utada the best of luck and hopes everyone goes out and gets a copy of her new album when it drops, May 24th.

International Secret Agents invade San Francisco

Those who already experienced becoming an International Secret Agent would know that the title carries with it a certain obligation to deliver the true meaning behind the name every minute of every performance.  When it came to the opening concert of 2009, not only did Far*East Movement (FM) and Wong Fu Productions deliver, but with the help of Jin the MC and an equally talented line-up of artists/performers, they surpassed all expectations and set a new standard for what is to come for the rest of the year.

The energy was sensed the moment all staff set foot in the Palace of Fine Arts.  From the set-up to the sound-checks, everyone backstage could feel the same energy building inside of them with each passing second.  Even during interviews with the press, the media could sense the excitement of FM, Wong Fu and Jin as they answered questions and took pictures with TV stations, radio stations, newspaper publications and bloggers.   You can just imagine our small press room (dubbed the “green room” for its lime green walls) swarming with reporters left and right as they eagerly approached the three in the center.  Everyone wanted to hear about the “hype”, the story behind the International Secret Agents and all that jazz.

The performances that rattled the Palace shortly after would show what all this “hype” was about.   Paul Dateh and Passion set the mood with their captivating sound and vocals.  ABDC Dance crew took it to another level by getting eveyone to groove  to their moves and music.  Jessi Malay and Tom’s quirky hosting brought in countless laughs that made the time between each act seem only a millisecond long.

Wong Fu Productions had a special *exclusive* screening of their latest videos that could only be seen by the Secret Agents in San Francisco. Their modest presence, but witty remarks (along with their cute graphic T-shirts) seemed to be all the rage among young teenage girls in the audience.   The trio’s skill and creativity meshed with their boy-next-door charm appealed greatly to their young fans who also dreamed of a career in production and film.

And of course, the climax of it all came with the much anticipated performances of Far*East Movement and Jin the MC.   On stage, you could sense the energy (enhanced by the vibrant colors of their wardrobe) between the experiencer and the experiencee.  Each verse of each song FM delivered with passion that was obviously felt and reciprocated by the audience.  There was this constant powerful exchange happening between the artists and the fans. You couldn’t help but be a bit astonished by how much life and energy was in that theatre during the last 20 minutes of the show.   Amidst the sea of red glow sticks (brought to us by our sponsor Verizon Wireless), Jin and FM were welcomed by the audience as they rocked out to their latest collaborations.

San Francisco probably heard all the noise and felt the energy that transcended from the theatre that night.  We can all look forward to the next city the International Secret Agents are planning to invade.  Wherever it is, you can ask the agents in Los Angeles and the Bay what it really is like and I’m pretty sure the answer will all be the same.

Last friday, PLAN C Agency teamed up with photographer Charles Chung  and business minded model Lisa Kim Fleming to shoot an in-store campaign poster for the beverage Dewars 18.  The photo shoot was held at Opera/Crimson Nightclub in Hollywood where the  interior colors and design exuded  the look and feel of the campaign.  It was a great experience due to the professional, easy to work with, and artistically open crew. Charles Chung, from Cooti Studios, and Lisa Fleming, from FHM Magazine, Spike TV and Maxim Asia, had great chemistry which made the stressful shoot easier. For PCA, it is far from over, but we had a lot of fun and wanted to share a few candid photos from the shoot. (Photos taken by Charles Chung)

Killed Carl on his Birthday

March 7, 2009

Carl Choi is President and CEO of PLAN C Group and thanks to the event planning skills of  Party Til Am, we were able to set up a big, blow out  birthday bash with a Kill Bill inspired theme. The event was held at Gonpachi, in Beverly Hills,  a restaurant that influenced the look for the film’s last fight scene.  Almost all the party-goers came in costume based on the movie, like Go Go Yubari’s school girl outfit  and the Crazy 88′s suits and masks.  Friends of Carl, like  James Kyson LeeLisa Kim Flemming, Far East Movement, and even actor Daniel Henney, from South Korea stopped by to eat and wish Carl a happy birthday.  Topping off the festivities were birthday cake, ice cream,  and  friendly dance battles between co-workers and friends.

Win-A-Date with Se7en

March 4, 2009

For More Info: Se7en Worldwide

Se7en, yes, dreamy Se7en, is giving YOU the chance to score some one-on-one time with him. And you can thank PCA’s clients, Verizon Wireless and Samsung for sponsoring this contest.  All this hard work did not go unrewarded, one of our very own Account  Managers was allowed on set when Se7en was filming his music video, “Girls” at Le Cercle in LA’s Koreatown.   She had fun chillin behind the scenes and  hanging out with an artist she grew up listening to.
